Visit websiteSurfers Rescue 24/7 is a free board rescue and CPR course available for all surfers and recreational water users in NSW.
Beach usage, whether for sport, recreation or competition, comes with inherent risk – the program aims to minimize this risk through the provision of free training to the surfing community.
In conjunction with pro-surfers who are currently working as lifeguards, Surfing NSW has identified board rescue techniques that may prove to be crucial in times of need.
Surfing has been part of Australian society since the late 50s, and during this time, recreational surfers from all walks of life have been instrumental in helping to keep our beaches safe.
Be it a patrolled or an unpatrolled beach across NSW, surfers are on the beach from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year. Surfers are often responsible for hundreds of thousands of unsung rescues.
