I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to represent New Zealand in the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup in Mexico this July. This exciting and prestigious event includes the top 16 qualified nations from around the globe to represent their country in a week long tournament for international rankings. 

As an Australian born athlete from a diverse ethnic background, I feel priviledged to honour my New Zealand heritage.

Qualifying for this event is an incredible feat in that it is limited to 16 nations and I am incredibly grateful to Basketball New Zealand for extending this opportunity to me. Thank you!

From a young age, I have dreamt of competing on an international stage against the best teams and athletes in my age group. The opportunity to showcase my skills and love for the game of basketball and challenge myself against international players is very exciting. I view this as the next step towards achieving my goals of becoming a national representative and a professional athlete in the sport I love.

The costs associated with sending an athlete to the World Cup is approximately $5000. This covers the team, coaches, support staff (Team Manager, Physio, etc.) for registration, hub style accommodation, dietary requirements, transport, uniforms and any medical/physio needs.
