ABOUT THE PROJECT
My name is Taneille Crase, Commonwealth Games representative and Australian Heptathlon champion.
Last year, I competed at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where I had a fantastic competition finishing with a personal best (PB) of 6026 points in 5th place. To put this into perspective, this is ranked the 7th best performance on the Australian All-Time list and only two heptathletes have scored over 6000 points in the last 20 years.
I'm currently ranked in the Top 24 in the World Athletics Ranking list for the Heptathlon, which places me within the field for the World Championships to be held in Budapest in August 2023. This will be a further significant steppingstone towards competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. My current performances have secured an invitation to two highly ranked Multi Event competitions in Europe.
- Hypo-Meeting Gotzis, Austria, 27th-28th May 2023
- Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf-Meeting, Germany, 17th-18th June 2023
I am super excited to be competing at these World Class competitions. Gotzis is considered the ultimate Multi Event competition to attend outside of the Olympics and World Championships. This will be an amazing experience to compete alongside the best in the world and improve on my world rankings.
However, I need your help. This sport can be quite costly. I'm currently working as a school teacher but I will be taking time off work to train and compete overseas at these competitions. I am not a sponsored athlete nor do I receive any funds from my sporting body so I am fully funding myself to compete at these high level competitions to achieve my goals. I'm super grateful for any donations to support my athletics journey. These are some of the expenses for travelling and competing overseas:
- Flights + Insurance: $2,300
- Accommodation & Food: $4,000 (35 days)
- Car Hire / Train Tickets: $1,500
- Any excess fund will be used for training purposes (track fees, coach fees) and physiotherapy treatments
Any donation over $2 is tax deductible through this fundraising campaign with the Australian Sports Foundation.
Thank you so much for your support!
