Located only 14 kilometres from the city, The Killara Golf Club is one of Sydneyäó»s best kept secrets. Founded in 1899, The Killara Golf Club is a private club situated on 50.5 hectares of lush, tranquil parkland surrounds.ŒæThe Par 72 Championship Course is a challenging test for golfers of all levels. The Club has a rich history across a range of other sports and recreational activities.ŒæCurrent facilities include two synthetic grass tennis courts, with competitions and coaching run by our Tennis Professional. We also have two squash courts, two lawn bowling greens and two championship billiards tables.ŒæBridge is also a popular activity for many members. The Clubhouse is an elegant venue for both member and private functions. We take pride in the expertise of our chefs and the high quality of food and beverage service provided to members and guests. Your donations will help enhance and develop the sporting facilities and amenities of the Club, including Clubhouse development, expansion of Professional shop, golf clubs, bags and golf cart storage, golf course works, including irrigation installation, construction of new greens and bunkers, construction of new tees, new fairways and the development of practice and teaching facilities. Refurbishment of bowling greens, upgrading of tennis courts, car park development and land acquisitions for future course and club development. Sporting Clubs such as golf clubs are having to change their operating models and funding for the updating of facilities, and undertaking capital works are generally outside of the ability of clubs to generate using trading surpluses alone. The Killara Golf Club has an approved development plan for a major part of the works that are contemplated and donations through the ASF will, in some cases make these works possible, and in others, accelerate their successful achievement. The result will be a vibrant community club serving the north shore of Sydney with a range of state-of-the-art sporting facilities that offer access to local residents for both social and competitive playing, practicing and teaching of golf, tennis, bowls and snooker, with the possible addition of other sports.
