Our Golf Club is well established in the Wimmera District as both a great golfing experience and as a venue for both private and community functions and events.
Being totally self funded, the club relies upon their own fundraising capabilities to enable special projects to be completed and development of programs to grow and be sustained. We raise funds to support projects such as water self sufficiency; improved club facilities; beginner golf programs for all ages and improved course and playing facilities .
The Warracknabeal Golf Club also includes an active Bowls Club with a healthy membership who play on a synthetic green at our facility which adds another benefit for people of all ages.
Our clubhouse has seating for approximately 100 people with a stage, a licensed bar and a well equipped kitchen making it an ideal venue for many non golf events in the beautiful setting of the golf course.
The golf course is open to any who wish to play and is utilised by staff of our Health Service and our local footballers and net-ballers during the off season. It is used by Woodbine for an enjoyable sporting experience for people with disabilities. The local secondary school also brings students for golf clinics on a regular basis.
The Clubs current watering system was installed in the 1990's and is slowly failing. A new automated watering system is needed and this project will be our priority over the immediate and mid term future. A new watering system will ensure the clubs ability to keep our greens and fairways in the best condition for golfers, both members and visitors. The golf course is a major community asset and will help encourage both tourists and new residents to our rural community.
