Timi’s dedication to the sport of squash that she loves has again been rewarded with a place on the team to represent Queensland traveling to the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Squash Tournament in Wellington, New Zealand in August 2024.

This means once again the family has the expense of travel from Norfolk Island to mainland Australia then down to New Zealand.

This event comes hot on the heels of a busy 2024 travel calendar - being part of the Darling Downs team at the Queensland Representative School Sport Squash at Acacia Ridge, and successful Oceania Junior Champs and the Australian Junior Open in Melbourne.

At the recent QRSS event the Darling Downs Girls Under 15 placed 1st from 9 teams as did the combined age groups for the girls.

This event will be her second time representing Queensland, along with twice traveling for Darling Downs (Rockhampton and Acacia Ridge) two Australian Junior Opens (Melbourne) and three Oceania Junior Championships (Thornleigh NSW, NZ, Melbourne).

This exchange between QLD, NSW & NZ began 10 years ago, seeing high standards of competitive matches made possible by the students representing their region and their supporting schooling systems while enjoying the experience of representative team.

Timi is currently the only junior on Norfolk so her dedication to a sport while so isolated having the major extra expense of travel is to admired.

All of these events are in preparation for the goal for Timi representing tiny Norfolk Island, alongside her tennis playing brother, at the Pacific Games in Tahiti 2027, self growth and being a better overall player and person.
