Hi! 

My name is Veronika Ushakova 

I am an 18 year old Senior International Rhythmic Gymnast and I have been selected to represent Australia at the 2024 Pacific Rim Championships in Cali, Colombia.

Over the last several years, I have travelled to a number of international competitions including World Cup, World Challenge Cups and Grand Prix. I competed in the finals in each of these events which for Australia is a remarkable achievement since this sport is widely dominated by Europeans.

I started Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 10 at my local dance club in Caloundra and since then I have been travelling back and forth from Caloundra to Brisbane for 4 years to get to and from training. Now, I have the opportunity to reside in Brisbane which allows me to save time getting to training everyday.

In Australia, Rhythmic Gymnastics is entirely a self-funded sport. This means that all trainings, flights, accommodation, transport, competition fees, coach and judges fees and uniforms are paid for by my parents with no additional support given. This is why I would be so grateful for any donation, no matter how small as it will help me get a step closer in reaching my goals! ❤️
