The Scape Australian Volleyball Super League (AVSL) is the new format of the national indoor volleyball league for men and women. Changes to the game format have been made to move the sport forward and develop a product with commercial potential and broadcast success.

The Scape Queensland Pirates will be a formidable opponent in the AVSL. Both men’s and women’s teams have a history of success with the men’s team awarded the championship in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019, and the women’s team earning the 2012 championship and silver (2016) and bronze medals (2017) in subsequent years.

More recently, the Scape Queensland Pirates women’s team are the current defending champions and are looking for another strong performance in 2023.

Historically, the Scape Queensland Pirates have been player funded however, Volleyball Queensland are implementing fundraising initiatives to engage the support of the community and in turn heavily subsidise our players out of pocket expenses.

Costs to players include flights, accommodation, meals, ground transport, uniforms, high performance equipment and home round venue costs.

We are also seeking corporate partnerships to support our game.
