Your donation is supporting Sam McKenzie
I will be representing Australia at the 18U World Men’s Youth Water Polo Championships in Belgrade, in August 2022. Water Polo is a tough sport, in the pool and equally out, given its financial demands. I'm thankful for any support. Your donation will go towards the travel and accommodation costs for the numerous interstate based Australian training camps, the European tour [prior to the World Championships] and the World Championships.
This season I have attended two Australian Senior Men’s [Aussie Sharks] Camps, several 18U Australian squad camps and selection competitions and will be attending the team camp at the AIS as part of the preparation for the World Championships. I am a member of the Australian Olympic Development Program for Paris, Los Angeles and Beyond and it is ultimately my dream to one day play for Australia at the Olympics.
In 2016 I started playing Water Polo for my local South Australian club, Tritons, and school, Prince Alfred College. For the last four years I have been playing in the born 2003 and 2004 Australian Teams. I was the school Water Polo captain at Prince Alfred College and currently play for the Adelaide Jets in the Australian Water Polo League and have captained many South Australian State Teams. I enthusiastically coach water polo at school and club levels. In 2020 I was awarded the Australian Olympic Change-Maker award in recognition of 'demonstration of the Olympic spirit through leadership and driving positive change in my community’.
