Visit websiteZac is an elite sailor who has achieved success in both domestic and international waters with the ambition to become fully professional. His most notable results include:
- 1st, Sailing Champions League Youth and Open Asia-Pacific Finals 2023
- 2nd, Open Mens Radial World Championships 2019
- 7th, Youth 4.7 World Championships 2017
- 9th, Open Mens Radial World Championships 2020
- Macquarie University Athlete of the Year 2023
- Inaugural Young Redlander of the Year 2023
Zac's primary aim for the 2023 season is to win the Sailing Champions League Youth World Final in Germany with his all-youth crew following their win at the Asia-Pacific Finals earlier this year. At the same time, Zac is trying to make it onto the Open World Match Racing Tour.
To achieve his goals, Zac must compete against the best in Australia and internationally to earn enough World Ranking Points to be eligible for the World Tour and to develop his and his team's skills. This requires frequent trips overseas to compete and train for extended periods of time against the best in the world.
The remainder of the 2023 and early 2024 seasons includes the following regattas:
- AirCalin International Match Racing Regatta, New Caledonia
- J70 Nationals, UK
- Sailing Champions League Youth World Finals, Germany
- NSW Youth Match Racing State Championships, Sydney
- NSW Waszp Slalom, Sydney
- International Waszp Games, Melbourne
- Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron's Christmas Cup, Sydney
- Harken International Match Racing Regatta, Sydney
- Warren Jones International Match Racing Regatta, Perth
- Etchells World Championships, Perth
- Seawanhaka Cup, New York
Zac spends a significant amount of time travelling and competing both in and outside of Australia. When he is home and not competing, he is either training for the next regatta or sharing his experiences by coaching up the next generation. Zac is a recipient of the Next Level Coaching Scholarship with Australian Sailing in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport and was a finalist for Coach of the Year. Zac runs two programs: The Squadron Laser Squad, including the Performance and Development Squads (Fleet Racing) and the Squadron Keelboat Program, including the Junior, Senior and Open Squads (Match Racing). Here, Zac helps develop over 60 individual sailors every week to achieve local and international success.
Any support will go towards achieving Zac's goals of becoming the Sailing Champions League World Champion and being on the World Match Racing Tour, a reality while supporting Australia's next generation.
