3 sisters Zahlia Kautai (13) Tennille Kautai (12) and Aroha Kautai (10) have been selected in the School Sport Victoria Team Vic 15 Years & Under and 12 Years & Under Touch Football Team competing in the School Sport Australia Championship to be held in Wagga Wagga, NSW in Oct/Nov 2022. It has been a great performance by the sisters Zahlia, Tennille and Aroha Kautai who participated in a structured trial process to be selected to represent Team Vic.

The 3 girls come from a small rural town where touch football is not your standard sport. Throughout the summer months the sisters must travel 40mins and over the NSW border to access a local touch football competition where they play in an adult competition. To play against children their own age they are required to travel three hours to Melbourne to compete in Junior Touch Football competitions. Participating in Touch Football involves ongoing commitment from the entire family. In order for the sister to participate in the training required for the Team Vic touch football squad they must travel 3 hours to Melbourne, participate in the training for hours and then get back in the car for a 3 hour trip home. This bares significant time, financial and travel burdens. In addition to travel costs to get to training, there is also fees levies and uniforms for each sister and the accommodation costs for the tournament. Zahlia, Tennille and Aroha seek your support with the financial costs of participating in the School Sports Australia Touch Football Championship.
