Supporting Jasper Barnett on Her Journey to National Success

My name is Yuki Barnett, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my extraordinary daughter, Jasper Barnett. Jasper is a vibrant and determined 13-year-old swimming champion from Broome, Western Australia. She has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication in her sport, making remarkable achievements at a young age.

Achievements and Highlights

Jasper’s journey in swimming has been nothing short of inspiring. She has always had an amazing connection with water, and her accomplishments reflect her passion and hard work. In March 2024, representing the Broome Surf Life Saving Club, Jasper won the WA state title in the Surf Race (Ocean Swim). In September that same year, competing in the pool at the WA state championships in Perth, Jasper won six gold medals and one bronze. Most recently, in November, Jasper set a new WA 50m Butterfly record, equalling the WA ‘open’ country record.

Upcoming Competitions

Jasper’s hard work has paid off in a big way—she has qualified to compete in the national swimming championships on the 14^th/15^th April 2025! This is an incredible opportunity for Jasper to showcase her skills. She is super excited to compete against the best in the country, and the best better be ready. Additionally, she will attend the prestigious 2025 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, known as The Aussies, at Kirra Beach QLD from the 29th of March 2025, competing in the Surf race. Jasper and her dad will fly to Perth on the 14^th of March to train in a 50m pool and the ocean with specialised coaches, this training will also include dry land strength and conditioning training. On the 25^th of March, Jasper flies to Brisbane, heading down to Kirra to familiarise herself with Kirra Beach and on the 29^th of March, it is on! After completion of the Aussies, Jasper will change locations to the Gold Coast and focus on 50m Butterfly and 50m backstroke training at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, where she will also continue her strength and conditioning training. On the 13^th of April Jasper will change locations to Brisbane City enabling a shorter commute to Chandler Aquatic, where on the 14^th and 15^th she will compete against the best in Australia. Jasper will leave Brisbane on the 18^th headed home to Broome. We will set up an Instagram page so everyone can follow the journey.

Sponsorship Opportunity

We want to be transparent with you about how the funds will be used. Here is a breakdown of the costs that your donations will cover:

1.    Training Costs: Jasper is trained by her dad and her two sisters. To ensure Jasper reaches her full potential we have organized specialized coaching and facilities in Perth and Brisbane to prepare for her events Coaching is $60/hr approximately 15 sessions $900.

2.    Travel Expenses: Covering the costs of transportation for Jasper and her Coach to attend the national championships. Broome to Brisbane: $1,170 per person.

3.    Accommodation: Providing safe and comfortable lodging for the duration of the competition is paramount. We will be staying in Perth with family for free. Jasper will arrive at the Gold Coast on 25th March and leave on 18th April. 24 nights of accommodation will cost $6,000.

4.    Hire Car Fee: Cost of a hire car for 23 days is $1530.

5.    Food Expenses: Covering the cost of food for 24 days at $50pp day, totalling $2400.

6.    Competition Fees: Paying for the entry fees and tickets to watch Jasper for the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke events and Surf race is $410

7.    Equipment and Gear: Ensuring Jasper has the necessary swimwear, goggles, and other equipment to compete at her best. Women's Fastskin LZR Pure Intent 2.0 Closedback Kneeskin: $1,020

We use the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), which is the only deductible gift recipient for sports in Australia. This means that donations of $2 or more to approved projects on their website are tax deductible. For donations over $1000, we would like to be able to promote your business in return.

Conclusion

We are transferring $1,220 to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) for donors who provided their email addresses.

However, we still need the email addresses of each GoFundMe donor to complete the transfer to ASF. Unfortunately, GoFundMe does not provide donor email addresses, so we could not transfer the remaining $2,080 to ASF without your help.

To ensure transparency, we will show the names of GoFundMe donors and the corresponding amounts on our Facebook page. We will also deduct the amount of $2,080 from the ASF account. If you have donated and would like your contribution to be transferred to ASF, please provide your email address.
