Local Gympie athlete chasing her international dream 🇨🇦🏃‍♀️

Hi, I’m Sophia Jordan, a 16-year-old runner from Cooloola Christian College in Gympie, Queensland. Running is a big part of who I am, and I’ve been training hard for years with the dream of representing Australia on the world stage.

In June 2025, I’ve been selected to compete at two major international track & field events in Canada:

• Jack Brow Memorial Meet – Kelowna, BC
• BC Track & Field Championships – Vancouver

This is an incredible opportunity, but getting there isn’t cheap. I need to raise $13,000 to cover travel, accommodation, uniforms, training support, and competition fees.

Recent Highlights:

• 🥈 2nd in the 1500m at the Queensland State Titles – QSAC, October 2024 – with a personal best of 4:44.80
• 🏅 4th place nationally at the Australian Track & Field Championships – Brisbane, December 2024
• 🌧️ 12th place overall and 1st Queensland girl at the Australian Cross Country Championships – Launceston, August 2024
• 🥇 1st place at her District School Cross Country – Gympie Districts, May 2025
• 🥉 3rd place at the Queensland All Schools Cross Country Championships – Brisbane, May 2025, against multiple national champions
• ✅ Qualified for the 2025 Australian Cross Country Championships (U17 Girls) – Ballarat, Victoria – August 24, 2025
