ABOUT Victorian Institute of Sport
To date, the VIS has assisted thousands of athletes to succeed in sport and life including Australian legends Cathy Freeman, Kim Crow, Lydia Lassila, Grace Brown, Dylan Alcott, Mack Horton and the Oarsome Foursome.
The VIS provides the high performance daily training environment for close to 450 Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athletes based in Victoria. Located at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park, we provide a state of the art training environment for athletes, including a training gym, sprung floor, pool and recovery facilities, sport science laboratories, treatment rooms and offices.
Along with the facilities are expert services including sport medicine, physiotherapy, sports psychology, strength and conditioning and sport science support and professional coaching, all included in a VIS Athlete Scholarship.
With almost 97% of our athletes either working or studying whilst pursuing sporting excellence, we provide a holistic approach through performance lifestyle coaching to assist athletes to succeed in sport and life.
With the ‘Green and Gold’ runway to a home Games in 2032, there is no better time to join the support team of our VIS athletes as we strive for Australia's best Games results.
