Agnes Water Active Riders Inc, established in 2018 to address a recognized need, is committed to providing equestrian activities to the local community and beyond. Despite lacking a permanent home base, we have attracted participants from various parts of the state, emphasizing our dedication to inclusivity.

To make our activities accessible, we've maintained affordability, often offering them at no cost to our members. Recognizing the financial challenges of horse ownership, our goal is to provide family-friendly and inclusive activities. Non-horse owners are warmly welcomed, and it's not uncommon to see them participating, even if it's on the back of a hobby horse.

Our Objectives

  • To provide a fun and all-inclusive facility for members to ride and school their horses.
  • To provide a variety of activities to suit all riders.
  • To promote diversity and inclusivity to all genders, races and abilities.
  • To build a facility for community and members to enjoy.
  • Provide rewards for our volunteers for their tireless efforts. The club is run solely by volunteers.

The tireless efforts of both past and present committees have resulted in the acquisition of land through the Gladstone Regional Council, a significant milestone in our developmental journey. Achieving success in both the Development Application and Cultural Heritage Survey, we've secured grants in the past 12 months. These funds have allowed us to implement key elements outlined in the Development Application, including fencing the grounds, constructing an arena, and establishing a car parking area.

Prior to utilizing the grounds, we are required to implement specific items as outlined in the Development Application. This is what this project will go towards.

They include:

- Toilet facilities (amenites block must be provided)

- Float parking (reduce dust and provide a safe unloading area)

- Rainwater tank (50,000L as per council specifications)

- Waste management facilities (recycling, manure station, hosing area)

Upon the completion of these requirements, we can commence activities on the grounds, expanding our offerings and welcoming new members.
