Valerii - 11 Year old Applecross Tennis Club Player

At Applecross Tennis Club and Break Point Tennis, we are passionate about supporting our junior players. 

One of our newest junior members is Valerii, an 11 year old boy who has recently moved to Australia. After Valerii’s home city in Ukraine was bombed in 2022, a family friend helped to arrange visas for Valerii and his mother to come to Australia.

While living in Ukraine, Valerii’s grandfather would take him to tennis training every week. His dream is to see the Australian Open in real life, and to one day be reunited with his grandparents and friends in Ukraine. Valerii is very passionate about tennis but the costs of coaching and competitive play are out of reach for his family at this time. 

With the support of our current members, Applecross Tennis Club and Break Point Tennis would like to provide a 12-month scholarship to Valerii. 

Funds raised will cover:

- Junior club membership fees (one year)

- Pennants entry fees (summer and winter pennants)

- Coaching fees (coaching to be provided at cost by Break Point) including one 30-minute lesson and one squad session per week, plus four school holiday clinics
