Located in an ideal position at the southern end of the Seacliff Esplanade, the Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club (B&SYC) is Adelaide’s foremost off-the-beach sailing club, providing ready beach access to the unparalleled sailing conditions that prevail on South Australia’s Gulf St Vincent.  More than a yacht club, we are a vibrant function centre, sailing school and a popular focus for the local community through our beachside Seacliff Beach Bar and Kitchen.   

The Club has a long and rich history dating back to 1919, when members of the early Seacliff Yacht Club and a group of sailors from Brighton agreed to join forces, and the B&SYC was formed.  We have hosted numerous state, national and world championships, and over the years members have made significant contributions to both the design of yachting classes and development of the sport.  

Our summer Saturday afternoon races are supported by a group of dedicated volunteers who together staff and operate the committee vessels, safety boats, bridge and tractor-assisted boat launch and retrieval.  In addition, the Club offers sailors secure under-cover boat storage and boat wash-down areas, along with showering and changing facilities.  Members and guests can enjoy a range of menu and bar options from the Seacliff Beach Bar and Kitchen while taking in the spectacular views across the Gulf.   

Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club is a Yachting Australia Training Centre, and delivers a full program of Learn-to-Sail courses.  The Club believes that the promotion and encouragement of junior sailing is fundamental to both the future of the Club, and to the sport of sailing in South Australia.  

The Management Committee recognises that the very significant costs of maintaining and operating the Club are only partially met by annual subscription fees.  The Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club Development Fund has been established to (i) capitalise on our unique location to improve the facilities and services provided by the club to our members and guests, and (ii) to promote junior and youth sailing.
