The Junior and Youth Sailing Project was established  to raise funds  for the maintenance and replacement of boats and equipment for use in the junior and youth sail training programs, and to support the participation of our elite juniors in national and international regattas.

Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club is a Yachting Australia Training Centre, and meets all the training criteria laid down by sailing’s governing body.  The Club proudly supports junior learn-to-sail and coaching programs through our involvement in the Tackers 1 and Tackers 2, school team sailing and Saturday morning junior and youth coaching.  Our junior fleet has grown significantly over the last few years, and the Club is delighted to see the fleet of ‘420s’ building as our juniors graduate into the larger boat. 

Our well-attended learn-to-sail programs mean that the training fleets of Tackers and Pacers are in constant need of repairs and maintenance.  In addition, sails and ancillary equipment (buoys, life jackets, radios) require frequent replacement.  Funds raised will ensure the Club can continue to provide a high level of junior training facilities and equipment, and will support participation by our top juniors in national and international regattas.
