Strollers Cricket Club are part of the Cricket Ipswich Association and manage junior teams from under 10s including 2 all girls teams and senior cricket 3rd and 2nd division sides which includes Cricket Ipswich's first ever Indigenous side Strollers Mallarra. We also run Woolworths Blaster Development Programs for children form the age of 5 wanting to learn the game of cricket. Strollers Cricket Club is a not-for-profit incorporated club that attends to the development of grass-roots cricket players in our local community. 

Strollers is partnering with the Australian Sports Foundation to assist in raising funds for the construction of a five lane cricket net practice facility, to cater for a growing community in the area. 

The nets would meet current Cricket Australia guidelines and due to the less than acceptable amenities at our current training site we cannot comfortably encourage young girls’ participation. If the new nets were established, girls would have access to change rooms and clean toilets.

The nets are constructed on a concrete slab with each lane having a synthetic turf laid to prevent wear and tear on the leather balls. The nets will be surrounded by a lockable chain wire enclosure. Each lane is enclosed with soft netting to ensure a safe environment for the participants when practicing.

By establishing training infrastructure at our site, we can reduce wasted time in moving training equipment from our current site to the shared facility where the adjacent club is based. Also, by having the facility at our clubhouse we can create a more club-oriented feel to the site, not just a place to visit for games.

Also having the training facility at our clubhouse, we will have access to clean toilets and change rooms on training day and once the nets are established, we will be able to construct a pathway from the car park to the nets for a possible future program for accessible cricket.
