The Great Southern Swimming Club is a family-oriented and inclusive club that encourages swimmers to achieve their personal best by focusing on stroke technique, fitness and confidence building. With a large focus on junior development and competition, our club provides specialised programs tailored to different ages and abilities led by qualified and highly experienced coaches.

Currently, we have 103 dedicated members, including swimmers who compete at the national level, showcasing the high standard of training and development our club provides. We are proud of our members' achievements and continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of swimming. 

During the 2023/24 season, the Great Southern Swimming Club had representation at thirty (30) carnivals and swimming meets across South Australia and regional Victoria. Travelling to anywhere from Broken Hill to Mount Gambier together as a team, swimming is just as much a team sport as any other and our families are dedicated to the development and nurturing of all aspects of our swimmers. The summer season also includes our annual carnival held at Strathalbyn, which allows our members to showcase both the club, affiliates and the region to the hundreds of swimmers and their families who attend the event from across the state.  

By fostering a positive and inclusive environment, the Great Southern Swimming Club remains committed to the growth and success of our swimmers, both in the pool and beyond. 

Why do we need donations?

Like all not-for-profit local sporting clubs, securing sponsors is crucial for the success and sustainability of the club.  

Sponsors provide the necessary financial support to cover a wide range of expenses, including lane hire, equipment, coaching fees, and event logistics. With the backing of sponsors, the club can ensure that members have access to high-quality coaching and equipment and have regular access to facilities, ultimately improving their performance and experience. 

The assistance and generosity of local businesses help cover costs and keep access to swimming as a sport, accessible, affordable and inclusive.
