About the project

Heidelberg United Football Club (HUFC) is a former NSL club and now NPL Club in Victoria. HUFC aims to promote a positive, friendly, healthy image that strongly supports the concept of team work both on and off the field of play as well as promoting and environment that promotes social cohesion and inclusion.

This fundraising program has evolved as a result of the Master Plan that has been developed by the City of Banyule for the venue and as  a result of the Clubs desire to improve its facilities for both participants and spectators.

The Club was an active participant throughout the entire Master Plan process and one of the resultant outcomes is that the Club is expected to contribute financially towards the $10 million dollar cost of implementing the Plan.

As such, our fundraising program is supporting the refurbishment of existing and the development of new facilities at Olympic Park, West Heidelberg that is located in the historic 1956 Olympic Village precinct.

These facilities includes the upgrading of lighting on all sports fields at the venue, upgrading of training facilities including the installation of a synthetic pitch as well as all other amenities associated with the game of football for both participants and spectators including access to people with disabilities to all facilities.

Through this process, the Club is aiming to develop a state of the art facility that will encourage greater participation for both male and female footballers as well as improve facilities for parents and spectators who support the Club during its games and on training nights.
