Fundraising Goal: $46,500
Kingston City Rollers is a member owned and operated, not-for-profit roller derby league, established in September 2013, making us Victoria's youngest roller derby league. We pride ourselves on creating opportunities which support and encourage gender equality for our members, and provide a positive, professional, inclusive and competitive environment where they can challenge themselves to be the best they can be. We promote a safe skating, a healthy lifestyle and an uplifting experience for our members and our community.
Whilst Kingston City Rollers is the newest and smallest league, we punch well above our weight in organising events for and bringing together the Australian Roller Derby community. KCR supports and encourages participation in the roller derby community by hosting The United Roller Derby Playoffs (URDP) and Camp Skate.
The United Roller Derby Playoffs (URDP) is a two-day tournament, which has been created specifically for different genders and sexual orientation to play on equal footing and is Australia's largest GENDER DIVERSE roller derby tournament.
Camp Skate is a three-day camp style roller derby weekend, which brings together skaters and officials from all over Australia, to further develop their skills, meet new people and overall have a fun weekend with other like-minded people.
The Kingston City Rollers Foundation is the fundraising arm of Kingston City Rollers, a roller derby league located in the South East of Melbourne. The foundation exists to provide an avenue for individuals and groups to support Kingston City Rollers efforts to develop the sport of Roller Derby and to provide an inclusive range of roller derby programs aimed at maximising the opportunity for people to participate in our sport, regardless of their ability, experience, gender or age.
In case you are not aware, roller derby is the most rapidly expanding sport in Australia, and unlike many other traditional sporting activities it is a sport that is gender-inclusive. Our league includes juniors, women, men and members from the LGBTIQA community, who come together to participate in an inclusive, and highly supportive environment.
Kingston City Rollers vision is to:
The cost of training and hosting development bootcamps and tournaments is forecast to grow over the next few years, so the support of donors and fundraising is an essential part of the league’s future success.
The Kingston City Rollers Foundation has been established in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation and encapsulates the three key areas that supporters can contribute to in order to help the league achieve its strategic objectives.
Donations are fully tax deductible and play a vital role in ensuring the development of these critical areas. Donors can scroll down to select a specific project to donate to or alternatively, donations can be made to the Kingston City Rollers Foundation and funds will be used for priority development initiatives.
By contributing to the Kingston City Rollers Foundation, you are helping Kingston City Rollers achieve its objectives and in doing so, field and develop a strong, competitive team and provide meaningful roller derby and development programs. In addition to providing tax deductibility, our partnerships with the Sports Foundation provides assurance to donors that donations will be used for approved purposes.
