Port Adelaide District Baseball Club is committed to bringing The Miracle League to Adelaide, South Australia with purpose of removing barriers that keep people with mental or physical disabilities off the baseball field.

The Miracle League has been long standing in USA with over 250 chapters. The Miracle League of Port Adelaide is the first in Australia, and we hope it will continue to grow across Australia.

We want to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to play baseball, regardless of their abilities. This program will improve connection to community by providing opportunity for anyone to volunteer and be involved in the Miracle League. Our inaugural program was designed for children and has scope to open up to any person of any age with a disability.

Our vision is to offer this program several times a year. This is reliant on funding to ensure wheelchair matting, wheelchair/adaptive devices can be purchased, and enough equipment and uniforms are available ensuring access and inclusion for everyone.

The goal of offering playing shirts, hats, medals and access to all playing equipment means everyone can access this program with no outlay of purchasing additional items to play sport. It also ensures all Miracle League athletes are given the same opportunity and experience as all other kids playing sports.

We are seeking funds to help purchase the following items required for this project. These purchases will ensure viability of program long term.

- Wheelchair matting (Quoted $25,000 to purchase)

- Playing tops for Miracle League Athletes

- Baseball Caps for Miracle League Athletes and volunteers

- Buddy/Volunteer Vests

- Medals and certificates for Miracle League Athletes

- Baseball gloves, foam bats and foam balls, suitable for all abilities

- Adaptive Baseball Equipment (attachable to wheelchairs to help swing and throw) (Quoted $5,000)
