Sydney Girls High School was one of three schools that competed in the first Schoolgirl Head of the River in 1990 and is proud of a rowing program that stretches back more than 30 years. The program is a remarkable achievement for a school girl public high school.

The young women who row at SGHS show great physical skill, incredible determination and learn a genuine sense of teamwork. Rowing also provides SGHS girls and their families with experiences and friendships that last well beyond the school gate. 

Rowing is an expensive sport. The SGHS Rowing Development Fund is committed to ensuring that the SGHS rowing program remains accessible to students at our public school. Funds raised will be used to purchase boats, oars and equipment, as well as fund approved fitness and coaching programs. All donations large or small will be hugely appreciated.
