About the project

St. Kevin’s Amateur Athletic Club (SKAAC) was founded in 1944 and has been competing in Athletics Victoria Track & Field and APS Old Collegians Cross Country competitions. Membership ranges from 60 to 70 members year-on-year. Our aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment to allow all members to achieve their athletic goals. In 2014 we were delighted to have two club members selected to represent Australia at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, with Stephen Cain selected to compete in the Decathlon and Alex Rowe selected in the 800m. In 2016 we had 3 members represent Australia at the Rio Olympics: Luke Mathews (800m, 1500m); Peter Bol (800m) and Sam McEntee (5000m).

We are seeking to raise funds to support our athletics club in a number of different ways. Our elite level athletes are required to travel to overseas every year for competitions and to meet qualifying standards for major championship events. We are seeking to raise funds in support of our elite athletes travel, everyday living expenses and accommodation. This financial support will go a long way to helping our elite club members realise their dream of competing on the world's biggest stage and representing Australia.

As well as offering financial support to our elite level athletes, we are seeking to grow and develop other areas of the club, which will hopefully lead to increased participation levels and facilitate grass roots development. By making a donation to the SKAAC Athlete Support Fund, you have the option of deciding what area of the club you wish your money to be directed. This can be in areas such as junior development, equipment, coaching or training facilities.

Our overriding objective is to help grow the sport of athletics and provide additional incentives for individuals to participate and remain actively involved in athletics at all levels.

Please support these vital club initiatives by making a tax deductible donation today!
