 About us....

The club is recognised as one of the leading tennis clubs in the state, currently the Winner of the NSW Coaching Excellence award at the Tennis NSW Annual Awards and a finalist in the club of the year category for the previous few years.

We run NSW’s largest weekly in-house junior competition, with over 200 children playing at White City every Sunday throughout the year.  Our award winning coaching program attracts and develops a huge number of tennis players from across the eastern suburbs including some of the best players in NSW and Australia.  Two of our juniors are ranked in the top 10 in NSW for under 16 boys and top 5 nationally for under 16 girls.

Our unique pathway which incorporates our competition structure at the heart is key to keeping more kids and particularly girls in the sport by creating a familiar, inclusive environment.

In addition to our onsite coaching - we run extensive outreach schools coaching programs to get as many local children experiencing the sport as possible.

Sydney Maccabi Tennis Club at White City hosts around 100,000 visits per annum, with the majority of these visits due to competitions and coaching.

About the new Sydney Maccabi Tennis Club at White City

The new Sydney Maccabi Tennis Club at White City will be one of Sydney’s leading tennis centres, both across the wider metropolitan area as well as locally within the inner suburbs.  It is uniquely placed geographically to provide new facilities for tennis development to inner Sydney where no such facilities currently exist.  In this regard through remaining at White City the development captures not only the long history of tennis on the site, but also maintains tennis as a flagship activity in this location.  Its prominence will provide a massive benefit in the promotion of tennis within the community and its reach will be greater than just that of the local area.

The new development will include an additional 3 tennis courts, making a total of 9 courts, including 1 new international level hardcourt / rebound ace surfaced court.  There will also be an additional 4 new mini courts available for junior tennis development, 2 of which will be undercover.  The new clubhouse, which will be located on the site, will be a landmark architectural and environmentally sustainable building incorporating industry leading passive energy measures.  The building will provide a focal point for users and patrons as well as additional flexible space that can be configured in multiple ways to extend the range of activities that can be provided, in particular for children.  In addition, on site secure undercover parking for up to 42 vehicles will be available to members and clients which will add a greater level of convenience and amenity for those attending the Club.  The proposal will also upgrade the existing lighting to international standards, engaging the lighting team used at Melbourne Park.

Ensuring the longevity and promotion of tennis is the prime focus and goal of Sydney Maccabi Tennis Club.  As a not-for-profit organisation, this project represents a major investment with the Club committing significant resources to ensure the creation of a state-of-the-art facility that can cater for the future needs of the sport.
