Tamar Rowing Club- Who are we ?
The Tamar Rowing Club was established in 1876 in Launceston Tasmania and is one of the oldest continuous rowing clubs in Australia.
We cater for beginners, school, master and elite rowers and by using our"Tamar Rowing Academy",have a skill based rowing program to provide a pathway for members to achieve their respective goals-whether it be fitness, fun or Australian representation.
The Club has an excellent fleet of boats and first class coaching, but requires continual funding to give the best opportunity for our athletes to achieve by providing good club facilities, rowing shells as well as supporting our coaches expenses, including coaching courses
We mentor coaches to level 2 accreditation and work with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) to provide a pathway to State and Australian representation.
Tamar has approx 100 members, and has strong loyalty to create a true club environment which is totally inclusive of all members.
We also support local schools and colleges by mentoring coaches and athletes and providing programs for non rowing schools in the Launceston area.
