The Briars Foundation Limited

Briars Facilities Development Fund

The Briars Sporting Club was founded in 1918 and has provided amateur sport participation in cricket, rugby union, hockey, bowls (men and women), squash and netball.

The Briars is a highly respected sporting club in Sydney and is commonly referred to as äóìThe Briars Familyäó, such is the culture and friendship that exists by playing for the Briars. The club is represented in the shires competition cricket (6 teams), junior cricket (26 teams), Hockey 1st Division mens and womens, juniors (26 teams), sub-district rugby (4 teams) with junior bilby rugby, senior and junior squash (2 teams), netball senior and junior (7 teams).

Briars Cricket & Briars Rugby (and visiting teams) are currently using very sub-standard change rooms for players with no facilities for umpires/referees. Our ASF project is raising funds to improve these facilities.

With new facilities the Club will be able to further enhance this wonderful ground for the increasing number of junior players as well as providing the community with a functional facility for local schools and the community in general.
