Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club - Jabiru Foundation Launch

The Jabiru Foundation will offer a unique opportunity to support junior golfers in their academic, golf, and personal development. The foundation's mission is to enable these junior golfers to reach their full potential, both on and off the golf course. With the support of the management committee and the generous contributions of the members of SCGCC, The Jabiru Foundation will make a significant impact on the lives of young people and the wider community.

 

Junior Golf Scholarship

The Jabiru Foundation’s primary initiative are Junior Golf Scholarships which aim to

provide scholarships to deserving junior golfers undertaking full-time

education. The foundation will grant two scholarships each year, preferably one

male and one female.

 

From time to time, an additional scholarship may be granted to an Aboriginal or Torres

Strait Islander person, a person with a disability, or someone from a low

socio-economic background.

 

Scholarship Criteria

To be eligible for a scholarship from The Jabiru Foundation, applicants must meet

specific criteria, including:

·      Completed application form.

·      An approx. 250-word essay on why the applicant wants to be part of the SCGCC and

what it will mean to them.

·      Proof of full-time education and copies of the two most recent report cards.

·      Two written character references.

·      Highly developed or developing golf and personal skills.

·      A willingness to learn and a demonstrated desire to achieve at the applicant’s

highest capability.

·      A knowledge and acceptance of SCGCC rules and golfing etiquette.

·      A strong desire to be a part of SCGCC and represent the club.

·      A willingness to participate, contribute and interact at the club.

 

Scholarship Benefits

Successful recipients of the scholarships will receive a bursary of $5,000 per year to

assist with academic, golf, and personal development. This bursary is to be

split equally for academic purposes (school fees, uniforms, textbooks, laptop,

etc.) and the other $2,500 for golf and personal development (golf coach,

mental coach, competition entry fees, competition travel, etc.).

 

The scholarship will be provided for a period of three years, subject to annual

performance reviews, which cover academic, golf, and personal development.

Recipients of the scholarships will have the same rights and privileges as a

Transition Member at SCGCC.
