TCIFA is active in several remote Indigenous communities in Qld's far north's Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait providing sporting-club-like activities for children, as well as facilitating futsal sporting activities for Indigenous and migrant children living in certain pockets in Cairns. The activities assist in reducing anti-social behaviour and increasing school attendance. Futsal is a highly inclusive and energetic team sport where small number of participants can always form a game. The facilitators are role models who provide mentoring for the struggling children. Support is needed to cover travel expenses, the conduct of a regional tournament and facilitators costs.
