Underwater rugby (UWR) is a fast-paced, three-dimensional, full-contact sport, played in a pool up to 5 metres deep. Players wear a mask, snorkel, and fins, and hold their breath to tackle underwater. The ball can be passed in any direction - up, down, left, right, forwards, backwards - as long as it remains under the water. To score, players must battle past the defenders and pry the goalie away from the basket to deposit the ball in the bottom.

In July 2023, the Australian Women's National Underwater Rugby Team will be heading to Montréal to show their strength on the world stage, competing in the 12th CMAS World Championships. Eighteen of the strongest women in the Australian UWR community are training tirelessly to land a podium position - they are doing the work in the pool, we just need your help for the rest!
