Dual Olympian Caitlin Parker has joined the Australian Sports Foundation’s team, with the bronze medallist from the Paris Games signing on as an ambassador.

Caitlin, who has her own fundraising page on the platform, is now enthusiastically spreading the word about the ASF’s work helping clubs, organisations and individuals from grassroots level to the elite.

She is committed to inspiring the next generation of athletes and advancing Australian sport while still competing internationally. Caitlin will help to raise awareness of the importance of sports funding, foster grassroots participation and highlight the role of philanthropy in supporting Australian athletes.

The 28-year-old, originally from Perth, is a trailblazer as the first Australian woman to win an Olympic boxing medal, having claimed bronze in the 75kg middleweight division in Paris in August. She won silver at the 2023 world championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Parker is thrilled with her new ambassadorial role, having raised almost $20,000 with the ASF - the only place in Australian where sporting donations are tax-deductible - to assist with training, travel and competition costs.

“Having experienced first-hand the benefits of fundraising through the Australian Sports Foundation and knowing how positively that has impacted my own journey, I encourage other athletes to utilise this great resource to help realise their own potential,’’ Parker said.

“I also know the importance of sport and activity to physical and mental wellbeing, the ways it can boost self-esteem, confidence and social connections through safe and inclusive spaces within communities.

“At all levels, and right around the nation, the Australian Sports Foundation empowers athletes and champions investment in sport and I’m excited about sharing that message as an ambassador.’’

The Australian Sports Foundation’s CEO, Sue Hunt AM, welcomed Parker’s appointment, stating:

“We are delighted to have Caitlin join us as an ambassador. Her success in the ring, her passion for sport and her dedication to empowering other athletes make her a perfect fit for the ASF in our mission to ensure that every athlete has the support they need to succeed."

Through her new role, Parker will contribute to ASF campaigns, participate in fundraising events, and advocate for greater investment in Australian sport. Her work will also help elevate awareness around the importance of supporting young and emerging athletes as they work towards their goals.

With fellow Paris Olympians Shayna Jack, Lani Pallister, Zac Stubblety-Cook, Natalya Diehm and Ella Connolly, Caitlin took part in the annual Pollie Relay Dash in Canberra in September and has since conducted multiple TV and radio interviews in major markets. She will also contribute to ASF campaigns and participate in fundraising events in 2025.
