Making it Easier to Donate with Direct Debit Card
October 18, 2023
WE’RE PROVIDING MORE WAYS FOR YOUR SUPPORTERS TO DONATE BY ADDING DIRECT DEBIT.
A popular and cost-effective way to donate
In 2019, 16% of donations made in Australia were by Direct Debit – and that number is only growing.
In fact, Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) data showed around a 5% year-on-year increase in the total number of debit transfers in December 2020.
Australians are growing more conscious of fees on payments and are looking to make savings wherever they can without compromising their own philanthropic giving.
INTRODUCING DIRECT DEBIT FOR RELIABLE BANK-TO-BANK DONATIONS
To help enable your donors to give in a reliable and cost-effective way, we’ve added Direct Debit as a new donation method for donations up to and including $10,000. Opting to donate via Direct Debit means the donor is using money from their savings rather than relying on credit, and avoiding ASF transaction fees while they are at it. Direct Debit is a convenient and low-cost way to donate. Saving time and effort for the donor who wants to give via direct bank transfer. It's also reliable, with a lower likelihood of payment failure compared to other payment methods. There's nothing you need to do as a fundraiser. All donation pages will get the update and automatically show Direct Debit, when applicable.
