Important Dates for EOFY Fundraising

Important Dates for EOFY Fundraising

April 02, 2026

News

EOFY is the biggest fundraising opportunity for Australian sport. With many supporters choosing to donate before June 30, having your campaign live early and understanding key cut-off dates can make a real difference to your results.

Use the timeline below to plan your campaign and make sure no donations are missed.

Plan ahead: your EOFY fundraising timeline

April: Set up and launch

This is your window to get your campaign live before the EOFY rush.

Launching in April gives you time to test what messaging resonates, build early donations, and create a strong base before the peak giving period in June. Campaigns that already have traction heading into EOFY tend to convert better, as supporters are more likely to give when they can see progress.

Use this time to:

  • Set a clear fundraising goal and explain exactly what the funds will cover
  • Add photos or video to bring your story to life
  • Reach out to close supporters first to build early momentum
  • Line up content so you’re not starting from scratch in June
  • Make the first donation to kickstart your campaign and build early momentum

May: Build momentum

With your campaign live, May is about staying visible and turning early interest into consistent support.

Sometimes campaigns stall at this point because they rely on a single post or announcement. The ones that perform well keep showing up with new angles and updates, giving supporters multiple reasons to donate.

Use this time to:

  • Share regular updates on your progress and how close you are to your goal
  • Highlight specific needs. For example, what a $50 or $100 donation will help cover
  • Feature people behind your campaign. Athletes, teammates, coaches or volunteers
  • Personally reach out to supporters who’ve engaged but haven’t donated yet
  • Encourage regular giving by highlighting how smaller, ongoing donations can contribute to your goal over time

June: Peak giving period

June is when donation activity peaks, as supporters look to give before the end of the financial year.

With more people ready to donate, the focus shifts to creating urgency and making it easy for supporters to take action. Campaigns that stay visible and clearly communicate the deadline are more likely to convert.

Use this time to:

  • Increase how often you’re sharing your campaign, especially in the final two week
  • Share how close you are to your goal to create urgency and encourage final contributions
  • Emphasise the benefits of tax-deductible giving to potential donors
  • Re-share your campaign across different channels such as email, social media, direct messages, or even get on the phones to make a personal ask
  • Thank donors publicly (with permission) to build trust and encourage others to give
  • Share a final push in the last 48 hours to give supporters time to see and act before the June 30 deadline

Important EOFY cut-off dates

To ensure donations are receipted in this financial year, it’s important to be aware of the following deadlines:

June 24, 2026

  • Final day for Direct Debit donations online
  • Final day for cheques to be received by the ASF office

June 25, 2026

  • Final day for cheque donations to be deposited at Westpac branches

June 29, 2026

  • Final day for EFT transfers to the ASF
  • Final day to process Bulk Upload payments

(Note: payments must be received in the ASF bank account by June 30 to be receipted this financial year)

June 30, 2026

  • Final day for credit card and Apple/Google Pay donations online

Don’t leave it too late

While June is the busiest time for donations, the most successful campaigns are the ones that start early and build momentum over time.

Launching your campaign in April gives you the best chance to reach more supporters, stay top of mind, and secure those extra donations.
