ABOUT Aidan Murphy
Hi, I’m Aidan. I’m an Australian sprinter from Adelaide specialising in the 200 metres and the 4x400 metres relay. I have represented Australia internationally across multiple seasons, including at the World Athletics Championships and the World University Games.
Looking ahead to 2026, the season includes major events such as World Relays in May and the Commonwealth Games in July. My focus is on continuing to represent Australia, improving my personal bests, and competing consistently at the highest international level.
Competing internationally comes with significant costs. While some support is available, many expenses including travel, training camps, competition schedules, physiotherapy, recovery and essential equipment are still largely self funded. Support through the Australian Sports Foundation helps bridge this gap and allows me to prepare and compete at my best.
Away from the track, I am studying a Bachelor of Economics at Adelaide University, working part time, and enjoy giving back to the sport through mentoring younger athletes and supporting positive conversations around mental health in high performance environments.
If you would like to follow my performances and results, my competition history and statistics are available through World Athletics.
