ABOUT Alec Franzke
Hi, my name is Alec. I’m 17 years old, currently in Year 11, and I’ve just been selected to represent Australia at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Spain this September 2025! I’m one of only three under-20 male athletes chosen from across the country – an incredible honour.
I’m a proud member of Albury Athletics, and I love running – whether it’s racing on the track or taking on big climbs and technical terrain out on the trails. Living in Mount Beauty, I’m lucky to train in the mountains, but it also means lots of travel to compete at major events.
Over the past year, I’ve been proud to achieve some key milestones:
- Winner of the 2025 Nail Can Hill Run in Albury
- Winner of the Rollercoaster Twilight Mad Mouse 12k, setting a new course record
- 3rd place in the U17 Athletics Australia National Cross Country Championships
And I've represented Victoria on the track as a national-level competitor over 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m for a number of years.
This opportunity to represent Australia is completely self-funded, which means all costs – including flights, uniforms, team levies, accommodation, and transport – need to be covered by me and my family.
That’s where I need your help.
Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards helping me get to the start line and proudly wear the green and gold on the international stage. Your support means a lot.
Thank you for being part of my journey!
