    ABOUT Amber Davison

    Balwyn North, VIC

I started gliding because I fell in love with the quiet precision of flight: no engine, no noise, just skill, strategy, and the sky. What began as curiosity quickly became commitment. Soaring is no longer just something I do; it’s something I’m building my future around.

I’m currently studying aerospace engineering, driven by the same passion that first drew me into a cockpit. I’m fascinated not only by flying aircraft, but by understanding how they work, how they perform, and how small design decisions translate into performance in the air. Gliding allows me to live the theory I study every day (to feel aerodynamics, energy management, and performance in real time).

My goal now is to represent Australia at the Junior World Gliding Championships in the Club Class category. Competing at this level requires years of disciplined training, cross-country experience, exposure to competition, and access to the right aircraft.

The 2026 Junior World Gliding Championships (to be held in Germany) will be a significant financial commitment. Between aircraft hire, entry fees, travel, and logistics, the expenses are substantial. It’s an opportunity I’m determined to pursue, but it comes at a cost.

Looking ahead to 2029 (in Australia), I will need to own and train in my own glider to remain competitive internationally. I’m currently working toward purchasing an LS3: a proven and competitive Club Class glider that would allow me to train consistently, compete regularly, and build the experience required to perform at a world level.

At this level, familiarity with your aircraft matters. Understanding how your glider handles in weak thermals, strong climbs, long glides, and final glides only comes from hours in the same cockpit. Owning my own LS3 would give me the continuity and consistency needed to truly compete, not just participate.

As a young female pilot in a traditionally male-dominated sport, I’m proud to be part of the next generation helping shape the future of gliding. I want to compete hard, represent strongly, and inspire other young women to see that they belong in aviation, engineering, and high-performance sport.

Amber Aero is the platform for that journey, combining precision flying, technical understanding, and long-term ambition.

    Your support will help fund:

    • Competition costs for 2026
    • Training and competition flying over the next three years
    • The purchase of an LS3 to prepare for 2029
    • Ongoing maintenance and operating costs

Every contribution moves me closer to lining up on a world championship grid, being prepared, competitive, and ready.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
