Hi, I’m Amy, and I’m James’s mum.

My son James is 16, and basketball has been a huge part of his life for as long as I can remember. He’s worked incredibly hard to earn a place on a two week basketball development tour in the USA with an Australian basketball academy. The tour will give him the chance to train with elite coaches, play against high level competition, visit American colleges and experience basketball in a way that’s simply not available in Australia. It’s an opportunity he’s worked towards for a long time, and he’s incredibly excited about.

James is doing everything he can to help make it happen. He goes to school full time, works at McDonald’s and volunteers as an assistant basketball coach. He’s also putting as much of his own money towards the tour as he can. James knows opportunities like this don’t come along every day. He’s working hard, contributing towards the cost himself and is determined to make the most of everything this tour has to offer.
