I’m raising funds to represent Australia at the 2026 Asian University Dragon Boat Championships in Liaocheng, China — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as part of Australia’s first-ever University Dragon Boat team.

This opportunity means a lot to me. Representing Australia is something I never take for granted, and having done so multiple times across dragon boating and karate, I understand the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the green and gold. Being selected for this historic team is incredibly special, and I want to give everything I have to perform at my best.

Dragon boating has been a major part of my life for the past eight years. I first joined the sport at St Edmunds College in 2017, before joining Navmat Dragon Boat Club in Canberra in 2018 to further develop my training. After graduating high school, I continued with Navmat full-time. Over the years, the sport has taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and has played a huge role in shaping who I am both on and off the water.

However, competing internationally comes with significant personal costs. Even the basics add up quickly — mandatory uniform items alone cost around $300, and registration for this competition was $200. Flights to and from China are expected to cost between $1,500–$2,500, on top of accommodation, food, and daily expenses while overseas.

In the lead-up, I’m also committing fully to training — including regular travel costs for petrol getting to and from training sessions and the gym throughout the week. Every part of this journey requires investment, both financially and personally.

I’m aiming to raise $5,000 to help make this opportunity possible. I’m doing everything I can on my end — training consistently and preparing physically and mentally — and any support will go directly towards helping me compete on the international stage.

This isn’t just about getting to a competition — it’s about representing Australia, being part of history, and pushing myself to the highest level of the sport I love.
