ABOUT Annie Stapleton
High jump, for me, has always been about progression and finding a way to go a little higher each time.
Right now, I’m at a personal best of 1.85m, and my focus this season is to break through 1.90m. It’s a small number on paper, but in high jump it represents a real step forward, and something I’ve been working toward consistently.
This past season, I completed my first full domestic season at a national level, which was self-funded. It was an important step in building experience and understanding what’s required to compete consistently.
To give myself the best chance of getting there, I’m planning to compete in Europe this season. Being able to access more frequent competitions and stronger fields gives me more opportunities to jump and improve each time I compete, which is exactly what I need at this stage.
Alongside this, I have been working four days a week, studying part-time at university, and training six days a week. It’s a full schedule, but it’s what’s been required to support myself and keep moving forward in my career.
This fundraiser is about making that next step possible.
Your support goes directly toward the costs that come with competing and training at this level, including international travel, entry and coaching fees, physio, and training equipment. All of these play a role in being able to show up consistently and perform at my best.
More than anything, this is about continuing the process. Seeing how far I can take it, one height at a time.
If you choose to support me, you’re helping create the opportunity to keep progressing and reach my goals, and I’m committed to making the most of it.
