Following on from the World Cup in India, an Ashes campaign in Australia and a tour to NZ, the Australian Over 60s team will this year head to the UK to defend the Grey Ashes. With no funding support from Cricket Australia, players bear all the costs to represent the country. It is the highest honour and a privilege to be selected however the continued burden of cost is high. I was recently named Over 60s International Player of the Year for 2024 and would love to continue my journey to defend The Grey Ashes in the UK. Tour costs are estimated to be approx $15k, so in order to pursue the dream, financial assistance and fundraising become a key component. To be able to do this at the Veterans level is something I am proud to be associated with.
