My Artistic Roller Skating Story

Hi, I’m Audrey Weisz, an 11-year-old artistic roller skater from Perth, Western Australia.

My dream is to one day represent Australia on the world stage!

Only two years ago I laced up my skates for my first serious competition. What started as a fun after-school activity quickly turned into my biggest passion. With relentless training and the support of my coaches at Morley Panthers, I’ve progressed faster than I ever imagined under the rules of World Skate, the International Olympic Committee-recognised international governing body for all wheeled sports.

Last year, after just two years in the sport, I was selected for the Western Australian State Team. I proudly represented WA at the Skate Australia National Artistic Championships and competed against the country’s best skaters where I placed 7th. I’ve also been lucky enough to attend official World Skate intensive workshops and international seminars alongside elite coaches from around the world.

Now I’m training hard for my next major milestone, the Skate Australia National Artistic Championships 2026, which will be held in Queensland from 3–11 July. A strong result there will open the pathway to Australian team selection and the chance to compete on the international stage.

My dream is to one day represent Australia at World Championships and, hopefully, to see Artistic Roller Skating included in the Olympic program.

While skating is my greatest passion, I’m also a national STEM champion, last year I co-created Marine Guard, an AI and drone-powered shark detection system that won 1st place nationally in Young ICT Explorers. That same drive and problem-solving mindset is exactly what I bring to my skating every single day.

Every competition, every training session, and every trip to Nationals costs money. Travel, accommodation, coaching, skates, and competition fees add up quickly. That’s why I’ve set up this fundraising page with the Australian Sports Foundation.
