At just 15 years of age, Ayla Kowalczyk has already stood on an international podium representing Australia earning a bronze medal in the Women's T38 Long Jump at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026.Ayla jumped a lifetime best of 4.71m in this competition setting a new Australian U17 record. A remarkable achievement given she had a broken ankle just 6 months earlier. Now Ayla has her sights set even further. Her goal is to earn selection to the Australian team for the 2027 World Para Athletics Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 19–27 June 2027.But reaching the world stage takes much more than talent and hard work.It takes year-round training, coaching, strength and conditioning, competition opportunities, equipment, travel, accommodation and the many other costs that come with developing as an international athlete. Ayla has proven her determination and resilience, now this is where you come in. We need your help to get Ayla there. We are aiming to raise $8000 by 31 May 2027 to help support Ayla’s sporting expenses as she works towards her goal of representing Australia in Tashkent. For a young regional athlete, these costs can quickly add up.Every training session, every competition and every opportunity to gain experience contributes to Ayla’s development. International competition is an important part of preparing athletes for the demands of elite sport, but the financial commitment required to pursue that pathway can be significant. Why Tashkent mattersThe 2027 World Para Athletics Championships will bring together approximately 1,300 athletes from more than 100 countries. For Ayla, earning a place on the Australian team would represent another major step in her young sporting career. But selection isn’t guaranteed.Ayla must continue to train, compete, develop and perform at the level required to put herself in contention for Australian team selection. That’s where your support can help Ayla take a great leap forward. $25 - Helps with everyday costs of training and competition$50 - Helps support competition and preparation expenses$100 - Contributed towards travel and accommodation$200 - Makes a significant contribution towards international competition costs and medical support$500+ - ensures Ayla is significantly supported in her preparations and will get her on the runway More importantly, your support tells a young Australian athlete that her community believes in what she is trying to achieve. Ayla has:

Coach (and father Zenon Kowalczyk)

Family support

The sport system supports in place

Now lets give her the missing piece & an opportunity to see how far she can go.
