Bailey's Story

Every football journey begins with a dream. For Bailey Minett, that dream started at Moorebank Soccer Club, where he played Division 1 football from a young age. Even then, Bailey possessed the technical ability, determination, and football intelligence to compete against some of the best young players in Sydney, including many who progressed through NPL pathways.

However, Bailey's journey wasn't straightforward.

Throughout his teenage years, he was often overlooked—not because of his ability, but because of his size. While others were selected ahead of him, Bailey refused to let rejection define his future. Instead of giving up, he used every setback as motivation to work harder and continue developing his game.

With the support and guidance of Football X Academy, Bailey committed himself to improving every aspect of his football. Through consistent training, strength and conditioning, and countless hours of hard work, he not only developed as a player but also experienced a late growth spurt that helped unlock his full potential.

That dedication has now been rewarded.

Bailey has earned the opportunity to join the Sunshine Coast Fire UK Senior Men's Team in England, where he will spend the next 10 months living, training, and competing in one of football's most demanding environments.

This is more than just an overseas football trip. It is a chance to prove that perseverance can overcome setbacks and that talent, combined with relentless work ethic, creates opportunity. Bailey's ultimate goal is to earn a full-time professional contract in England and begin a career playing the game he loves.
