ABOUT Bella Qualmann
PLEASE HELP ME CHASE MY BASEBALL DREAM
I’m 12 years old from South Australia and I absolutely love baseball.
I’ve been playing for over six years, and it’s such a big part of my life. I’m really passionate about sport and improving everyday. Baseball has given me some amazing friendships and experiences that I’ll never forget. From travelling to tournaments to spending weekends with my teammates, I’ve met so many awesome people and made memories I’ll always treasure.
I currently play U14 Div 1 in a mixed team and in the Women’s league at Glenelg Baseball Club. Each team challenges and pushes me in different ways and keeps me learning new things everyday.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the honour of representing South Australia at the National Little League Girls Championships. Competing against the best girls in Australia has pushed me to keep improving, and it’s made me even more determined to see how far I can go and improve even more.
There are more and more girls playing baseball each year. There has been more pathways opening up and more women are earning college opportunities, playing professional baseball, and showing that girls belong on the diamond, while having so much fun along the way. I’m proud to be part of that growth and to help show younger girls that they can do it too.
I am always at training or playing multiple games a week but if you don’t see me there I will either be at the batting cage, out the back practising, throwing at the park, or working on my fitness and strength, even though I also play netball and go to school. I genuinely enjoy putting in the extra work. Baseball isn’t just something I play, it’s something I truly love. I also learn and grow off the field too, gaining confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that help in all different parts of life.
BASEBALL FOR ALL GIRLS TOURNAMENT
I’ve been selected to represent Team Legacy Sports Australia in July 2026 at the Baseball For All Girls Tournament in the United States, the largest girls’ baseball tournament in the world. I’ll get to compete against top international players and be mentored by former MLB players (including a former Los Angeles Dodgers player and Olympic silver medallist) as well as current and former Emeralds representatives.
I’ll train at elite facilities, gain international experience, and build skills and confidence that will help me on and off the field with baseball as well as life skills.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
I’m aiming to raise $8,000 to help cover some of the costs for my tournament experience, including international flights, accommodation, tournament and program fees, uniforms, equipment, and other costs.
Every donation, big or small, will bring me closer to this incredible opportunity. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that will help me grow as a player, meet amazing people, and take another step toward my dream of playing baseball at the highest level.
My Mum and Dad are always supporting me in everything I do and I want to help out raising some money for my trip. I’m too young to have a job, so I’m fundraising to help cover some of the costs of my tournament experience and flights. Playing sport isn’t cheap, and this opportunity is amazing but will cost a lot money. Donations are tax deductible, which apparently helps people and businesses if they donate. I don’t fully understand tax, but I thought I’d mention it!
I will not be taking this trip for granted and will treasure this for the rest of my life. I can’t wait for this experience and will take everything in. Thank you so much for supporting me, your help means the world to me!!
Now let’s go win a ball game!
