What We’re Raising Funds For

We’re raising funds to help families and players cover the costs of participating in representative basketball—including registration fees, travel, uniforms, and tournament expenses. These costs can be significant, and for many families, they create real barriers to participation. Through the support of donors, we aim to remove those barriers and ensure that every athlete — regardless of financial circumstance — has the opportunity to represent their community.

Why We Care

At the City of Blacktown Basketball Association (CBBA), we believe that basketball should be accessible to everyone. We see firsthand the transformative impact that sport can have on young people — building confidence, teaching teamwork, and creating a sense of belonging. But too often, the rising cost of competitive sport pushes talented players out of the game before they ever get their chance.

How We Plan to Make It Happen

Funds raised through the Australian Sports Foundation will go directly to supporting our athletes. We allocate funds based on need, working closely with families to subsidise or cover essential costs for players who otherwise couldn’t participate. Whether it’s helping a single parent afford their child’s first representative season or covering flights for a young athlete attending a state tournament, your donation makes a real difference.

We support thousands of players every year, from grassroots beginners to elite representative teams. Without a stadium of our own, we operate out of multiple venues and rely on a small staff and a passionate volunteer base to keep the sport thriving in our region.
