    ABOUT Blake Houston

I have played many sports all of my life but discovered disc golf when I was 14 and was instantly addicted to it and began to devote all of my time to it. At 15, I became the youngest person to win the Australian Pro Tour, at 17 I was ranked in the top 10 Juniors in the world and at 18, I became the 2nd highest ranked men's open player in Australia. My goal is to continue to excel in my disc golf journey and to make it my professional career.

In 2024, I was selected for the Australian Team to compete in the World Teams Disc Golf Championships, where we came away with the Silver Medal! This result qualified Australia for a place in the World Games 2025, where only one male and one female from each of the 16 qualifying countries will compete. I am incredibly honoured to be selected as the Australian male representative. Representing my country has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had as a sports person and it's something I hope to continue to do throughout my career. I'm excited to travel to China and be an athlete competing in this world sporting event.

Disc golf is an individual, self-funded sport all the way up, including the travel around Australia which I have already done. I have essentially reached the top in Australia and believe I have the ability to pursue an elite professional playing career. To achieve that I now need to travel internationally.

I am fundraising to help with my travel expenses, most importantly to represent Australia at the World Games in Chengdu, China in August 2025. The World Games offers not only the best competition from around the world but also a unique opportunity to meet and connect with those elite professional players I strive to play against on the pro tour.

I will also be travelling to New Zealand over January/February 2026 to join the Tour Down Under, which attracts some of the world's elite pro players. This will give me the opportunity to further my disc golf career and prepare me to take Australia's best to the PDGA Pro Tour. I also hope to help raise the profile of disc golf in Australia as a professional sport and for it to attract new major sponsors and tournaments.
