    ABOUT Blake Houston

I have played many sports all of my life but discovered disc golf when I was 14 and was instantly addicted to it and began to devote all of my time to it. At 15, I became the youngest person to win the Australian Pro Tour, at 17 I was ranked in the top 10 Juniors in the world and at 18, I became the 2nd highest ranked men's open player in Australia. My goal is to continue to excel in my disc golf journey and to make it my professional career.

In 2024, I was selected for the Australian Team to compete in the World Teams Disc Golf Championships, where we came away with the Silver Medal! This result qualified Australia for a place in the World Games 2025 and I was selected as the Australian male representative for that incredible event. Representing my country has given me life-long memories and the most rewarding experiences I could imagine as a sports person and it's something I hope to continue to do in the future.

In 2025 I won the Australian Championships and this results in an invitation to play in the 2026 Champions Cup. It will be held in Lynchburg, Viginia, USA. This is an incredible opportunity to play new courses in the USA and meet and play with the top disc golfers from around the world. Whilst I'm there, I also plan to play some other pro tour events and check out lots of other courses along the way.

Disc golf is an individual, self-funded sport all the way up, including all of my travel around Australia and the world over the last 5 years. The opportunities for me are increasing as my profile grows however, I am not able to accept all opportunities due to the limitations of the associated costs and am forced to choose which events I can compete at throughout the year.

I am fundraising to help with my travel expenses to get to the USA for the Champions Cup. It is an honour to be invited to this prestigious event and the opportunities of the invitation are very limited. Going to the US wasn't in my travel plans for 2026 but the invitation is one that I cannot pass up and I have to find a way to get to. Any help people are able to give with donations towards my travel expenses to get to the US would be greatly appreciated.

I hope to continue to raise the profile of Australian disc golf by ensuring we have Australian representatives at the big events. It will also be an amazing opportunity for me to play some new courses, meet some new people and continue to prepare for a time in the future when can join the PDGA Pro Tour.
