ABOUT Braidon Charlton
Braidon “Woody” Charlton - Chasing the Green & Gold
Campaign Overview
Told I was too young and later forced away from the sport by dartitis, but now I’m back competing at state level and chasing the dream of representing Australia.
Competing at a national level comes with significant financial challenges. Asking for support doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’ve learned that reaching bigger goals means allowing others to become part of the journey.
Your tax-deductible donation directly assists with travel, accommodation, tournament entry fees, sports medicine, and physiotherapy costs associated with competing across Australia.
Achievements & Milestones
- Queensland State Team: Competed his way into the 2026 Australian Championships in Western Australia.
- DSL Brisbane Super League: Invited to the exclusive league featuring Brisbane’s top players.
- ADA Tour Competitor: Currently competing nationally while continuing to climb the Australian rankings against some of the country’s best players.
- Junior Mentor: Proudly supporting and welcoming the next generation at Logan City Darts Association.
The Comeback Story
I first fell in love with darts through my family. After spending time watching local competitions, I quickly developed a passion for both the sport and the environment surrounding it.
That passion grew stronger after earning my first selection in a state team. The year before, I had been told I was too young, and from that moment on, I became determined to prove myself and continue improving.
Like many athletes, my journey hasn’t been straightforward. I spent 3–4 years away from the sport while battling dartitis. Returning to play came with its own challenges, including the expectation that I would immediately be the same player I once was. At times, that pressure was difficult, but the experience taught me resilience, patience, composure, and belief in myself.
My selection for the 2026 Australian Championships felt like confirmation that the hard work, setbacks, and sacrifices had all been worth it.
Community Impact
Beyond competition, darts has shown me the importance of community. Creating a welcoming environment and supporting juniors is something I genuinely value.
“When I was being bullied at school, Woody made me feel welcomed and accepted within the darts community. He never made me feel out of place when my chalking wasn’t as fast as the other juniors.”
— Kyle, Junior Player, Logan City Darts Association
