ABOUT Brisbane Tritons Water Polo Club Inc

    Fortitude Valley, QLD

The Brisbane Tritons are Queensland's first and only LGBTQIA+ inclusive water polo club. Founded in late 2015 with the assistance of the Brisbane Barracudas, Sydney Stingers, and Melbourne Surge, the Tritons have grown from 14 members in their first bootcamp, to over 80 active members with several teams entered into the Brisbane competitions every year. We work to make water polo more inclusive through regular engagement and competition as well as promoting the queer community in a variety of events.

This year we are raising funds to go to the Gay Games in Valencia. For some this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in an international setting amongst thousands of other queer and supportive athletes. For others it is an event to reconnect with old friends and continue to challenge themselves. But for everyone going it is about engaging (and winning) in a competition in an international context while proudly representing Brisbane and Australia.

As we all know, there is a bit of chaos in the world at the moment (to put it mildly). This campaign is asking for donations to help offset the cost of various competition related costs associated with an international competition of this calibre so that our members can fully embrace the experience and strive for the top place on the podium. Our members will be paying their own way for flights, accommodation, and other expenses, as well as training extensively in the lead up to the games - but this is help offset costs with equipment, registration, and coaching expenses.

We don't expect anyone to donate, but it is always appreciated when someone does.
