    ABOUT Briseis Brittain

    Malak, NT

Briseis will make her international debut in the 200m & 400m events as part of the largest Australian Para Athletics team since the Sydney 2000 Paralympics — a 51-strong squad set to take on the world from 26 September to 5 October.

Identified at the age of 10, Briseis first burst onto the national scene at the School Sport Australia Championships, returning home with a gold & silver medal. Since then, she has competed at multiple national events & shown unwavering dedication to her sport. Her recent selection to the Australian team is a testament to her hard work and perseverance.

Over the past two years, Briseis has benefited from the support of a dedicated sprints & jumps coach and the Northern Territory Sports Academy’s Para Futures program. The results have been impressive — with significant improvements in her race times & consistency on the track.

Athletics Northern Territory Executive Officer, Leanne Chin, has closely followed Briseis’ journey over the years.

“I am proud of how far Briseis has come since COVID. She has shown great improvement over the past two years & real commitment to her sport & training,” said Chin.

“The competition pathway for Para athletes has never been stronger-not just for 2025, but looking ahead to LA 2028 & Brisbane 2032.”

Briseis' journey is an inspiring example of resilience, talent, & determination, & she is sure to make the Northern Territory & Australia proud on the world stage.
